MyTextMate focuses on assisting students with courseload management by enhancing organization, reducing stress, and improving academic performance, and it is our goal to use the comfort of consistency and customizations to empower students to succeed. While our product was designed as an assistive technology for students with learning disabilities and ADHD, we have found it is helpful to any student, even those who may not traditionally qualify for extra academic assistance.

While technological innovation has benefited students in many ways, it has also made their academic lives more complicated and unnecessarily stressful. Students are constantly being bombarded with notifications of coursework changes, upcoming due dates, and announcements from their classes via their Learning Management System app or email. Push notifications have an open rate of 2.25%, which means students often won’t be aware of critical deadline information coming from their classes, causing them to fall behind and experience poor academic performance and high levels of overwhelm and stress.
